hi honey, i'm lonesome for you today. this morning i took a train to bologna and saw the church that st. dominic is buried in. after this visit we went to another church but it wasn't nearly as nice. afterwards i walked around by myself for a while, had a nice lunch--yes, i had wonderful bologna spaghetti!! and then sat in a chair made out of stone and read while the rest of the town was having a siesta. all the shops, museums and churches are closed from 12:15 until 3:30. i didn't meet up with anyone in my group again so i took the train home by myself and then walked to our apartment. now it's about 9:30 at night. tomorrow is sunday and it's my free day. i know the church i'm going to tomorrow and think i'll also go to boboli gardens. but...mostly i'm missing you and kellie and need a sarah hug. several people helped me find my way home tonight and some of them were italian. i can tell, however, that italians know i'm american just by looking at me, --even if i don't say anything. ...and i'm not even wearing tennis shoes, a t-shirt or blue jeans. i'm not sure what i'm doing --maybe i look lost :-) last night i listened to someone play the accordian in a piazzia--it was very nice. give kellie a hug for me and tell you dad i said hello. assisi was really wonderful--the place where saint francis lived. here are a few pictures.
i love you--mommmmmmmmm
